Predicting Spread and Impacts of Zebra Mussel: Using a spatial simulation model, I projected the potential distribution and impacts of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) invasion in the Great Lakes region. The model simulated the spread of mussel larvae, adult establishment, and their effects on water quality, native mussel communities, and fish habitat. Our results helped inform management strategies to mitigate mussel establishment and spread.
